Au bout de souffle

J'adore la Nouvelle Vague. That generation of young artists portraying their unrest in movies, wishing to change old rules and clichés.

I happen to have a small collection of Truffaut and Godard movies, but my favourite has to be Au bout de souffle, starring the marvelous Jean Seberg and a very young Jean-Paul Belmondo.

It's about two young lovers living a dangerous adventure among the streets and the apartments of 1960s Paris.

As soon as I saw this Jumperfabriken dress I knew it would allow me to dream about being on a Godard movie set.

So I took advantage of my new haircut to wear this fresh striped pink dress and to feel, as I wear it, like a Nouvelle Vague heroine, reflecting upon life and love and dreaming about taking a stroll on the Champs-Elysées.

Mid week inspiration madness: My Louisiana sky

 












I never get tired of watching this movie. Although it's old and not very famous, it's definitely among my top ten favorites, and is always a big source of inspiration to me. Every scene looks like a painting, and the story is so sweet. I think as soon as I can I will go visit the Louisiana state, I am so drawn to its atmosphere!

Mid week inspiration madness: The Help

I wasn't surprised when I heard Octavia Spencer had won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Minny (maybe the actress herself, too) is such a vivacious and communicative woman! Of course this movie goes straight among my favourites, and I loved how it re-created 1960s Mississippi. You almost felt like you could smell the warm atmosphere of the South! Every setting was like eye candy for me, like that awesome pink bathroom and... I got a craving for Minnie's fried chicken!

Fantastic Mr. Anderson

I've been rewatching the Fantastic Mr. fox, and I really think Wes Anderson is a genius. I love his choice of colors, those tones between mustard yellow and brown, they make me think of a palette from the early Seventies! Such a great inspiration to me.
