Crazy over daisy

Greetings

I made a silly little video to promote my greeting cards...I know the quality is not so good (and I couldn't avoid that mirror effect) but it was fun anyway! The music is "Please let me wonder" by the Beach Boys, one of my favorites. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Needle and thread

I'm not a great seamstress. Mainly I like to embroider, but every once in a while I'll try and sew some small thing.

For a while I had been looking for a checked skirt in a retro shape, but I couldn't find anything satisfying. So, leafing through my vintage sewing patterns, I found one that looked easy enough to make: I bought the fabric and set to work!

Working on a vintage pattern really brought me back in time and made me feel like a busy girl in the 1950s-60s.

A couple of afternooons' work, and here's the result!

Clearly it's not perfect (please be generous in your judgment), but I felt so foolishly happy when I was able to wear it! :)

Like Julie

I can say that I know the movie Julie & Julia practically by heart, and yet the more I watch it the cuter it gets ( I've always been a great fan of Nora Ephron's movies, I just wish she made them more often)!

What a fantastic combination, vintage + food!

Among my favorite details from the movie there are the adorable old-style aprons used by Amy Adams while cooking. So I found some fabric almost identical to one of Julie's aprons and I sew one for myself (oops, I realized too late I had sewn the stripes in the wrong direction)!

Anyway whenever I wear it I feel like I'm becoming better in the kitchen! ;-)
